Oxnard amends Hireclout agreement

Oxnard—The Finance & Governance Committee approved a second amendment with Hireclout Inc. for professional services for IT (Information Technology) recruitment during its Tuesday, July 9 meeting.

The amendment extends its value to $1.5 million through June 30, 2025, for Information Technology consulting and recruitment services.

Chief Information Officer Rob Rubin presented the amendment and noted the City and Hireclout entered into an agreement in August 2023 for $200,000 for recruitment services of IT personnel.

“In March 2024, the Council approved an extension of the vendor’s services through June 30, 2025, with a new not to exceed amount of $850,000,” he said.

Challenges remain in recruiting and hiring personnel nationwide; he said that’s especially true for finding technology talent.

“We here in Oxnard are seeing that even more,” he said. “Vendor services are required to aid the IT Department in finding qualified personnel to fill ungently-needed vacant positions within the department to continue serving the City’s needs, its residents, and businesses.”

He said IT continues to work on many key technology projects, including remediation efforts to address key audit findings over prior years, including Police, Fire, Public Works, and Billing and Licensing.
