Oxnard Pal BOXING Returns

Oxnard-- After a long Covid layoff, the Oxnard Pal Boxing Program made its triumphant return to 350 K Street Monday, February 6.

THE kids were excited to return, as the location was full of energy and excitement. The kids were ready to get back to work under the watchful eyes of coaches Pena and JoJo, who provided valuable instruction.

Head Coach Luis Pena said he was the trainer before the pandemic began, and the Boxing Program’s return makes him very happy to have the kids back.

“Yesterday was our first day in close to three years,” he said. “I see some old faces, but there are a lot of new faces. We are really looking forward to this.”

Pena said the kids are learning basic Boxing fundamentals, and he hopes that translates into hard work and discipline throughout life .“That’s what Boxing teaches,” he said.

Step one for taking advantage of the program’s benefits is walking into 350 K Street and getting a membership.
