Oxnard-- The Police Department is celebrating National Dog Day 2023 and honoring Oxnard Police K-9s: Raider, Joey, Rocky, and Conrad.
The Oxnard Police K9 Unit, funded by the Oxnard Police K-9 Foundation, is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization established to purchase and support Police K-9s for the City of Oxnard.
National Dog Day, created in 2004 by animal advocate Colleen Paige, started the day so all dogs can be celebrated and draw attention to the number of dogs in shelters. The special day encourages the adoption of those dogs who haven’t found a place to call home.
