Oxnard--Plaza Park was full of love, happiness, music, performances, and color as the 3rd Annual Oxnard Pride Day Celebration Saturday, June 25, inspired the crowd to move forward proudly.
THE event, presented by the Oxnard LGBTQ Community and the Diversity Collective, the fiscal sponsor, featured a list of performers ready to show their pride. Vendors greeted the crowd and offered great shopping choices and service to the community, highlighted by the Pride March through Downtown Oxnard.
Diversity Collective Board Member Unique Dowtin is a new board member but feels great to be out from under the Covid restrictions.
“I’m so excited to be among the community again,” she said. “Look at the March.”
She wants to make sure that everyone feels safe and welcome.
“It’s exciting to be back after being down with Covid for two years,” she said. “I’m among my friends, peers, and this wonderful community.”
Unique said someone who just identified as an LGBTQ community member and feels a little lost can find a home at the Diversity Collective.
