Oxnard—The City Council, on Tuesday, February 3, heard a presentation from City Manager Alex Nguyen about how the City operates, and that story continues with its social media channels.
“We’ve done a good job, and one of our phrases is to be a little more sticky and utilize it more,” he said. “But boy, talk about a minefield.”
Since Nguyen’s arrival, he started the new Sunshine Ordinance, the Committee System, and implemented Measures to improve accountability, making efforts to streamline permits, asking voters to consider Measure E.
“This City took a long time to catch up with State Law,” he said. “When the voters legalized cannabis, and that was a long discussion before I got here to finalize it,” he said. “The Council also made a major decision to update our Enterprise Resource Program (ERP).
The ERP Program is a collection of programs that help run the City, and he said every organization goes through this type of updating.
“It’s always a challenge, and always fraught with speedbumps and hurdles along the way,” he said. “But we’re grinding through and making progress.”
