Port Hueneme--The City Council has a framework and process to hire a new City Manager and received an update on February 6.
The City did not renew City Manager Brad Conners’ contract.
The Council voted 3-2 on January 17 to appoint Human Resources/Risk Manager Nick Jones to oversee the recruitment process for the City Manager position. Jones elected to use a hybrid approach with a $25,000 total budget.
Wendi Brown from Consultant Specialists Inc provided input about recruitment to the staff and told the Council they’ll partner with Jones to help them select their new City Manager.
“I’ve worked with all of you to do a one-on-one, and through that process, I’ve been able to share some dates that we hoped would work,” Brown said. “Through those communications, I’ve been able to put together a timeline and some key processes related to the stakeholder engagement interview process, the framework, and how that will all work.”
She said stakeholder engagement is essential, and they are going to put together a community and employee survey.
