PH to name subcommittee for City Manager search

Port Hueneme-- The conver­sa­tion surrounding the City Council selecting a new City Manager continues with Wendi Brown from Consultant Specialists, saying choosing the selection panel to assist with which candidates should move forward.

“What you could do is make a decision on a subcommittee panel that could finalize some of these decisions for Human Resources/ Risk Manager Nick Jones, so we don’t have to be in a closed session or public meeting to make some of these decisions,” Brown said. “It would be great if we had a subcommittee of this Council to be able to find and analyze these details.”

Brown said the subcommittee would consist of two people from the Council that Jones could reach out to and do things like editing the brochure.

“Talk outside of tonight’s meeting and say, okay, here’s some City Managers I’ve reached out to, or I could reach out to, who’s the top of the list you’d like to have on this panel of Department Heads, who would you like to have those decisions to make it a lot easier and faster and move through the recruitment process.”
