Oxnard—The Community Services, Public Safety, Housing and Development Committee, Monday, Feb 25, approved its five-year Public Housing Agency Plan for low-rent housing.

Council Member Michaela Lopez asked how often the City gets progress reports on its objectives.

“We’re just starting our five-year fiscal period, so we outline our overarching goals and objectives,” Interim Housing Director Brenda Lopez said. “On an annual basis, we’ll provide an update on each goal and objective or if we recommend any significant policy changes.”

She said the Department of Housing and Urban Development outlined the strategic objective.

“We look at our community goals and our participants, the Government and try to align with our funding priorities,” Lopez said. “We update the previous year annually and what we’ll undertake the next year to meet our goals.

Mayor Luis McArthur asked if she observed any themes, and Lopez said they are open for public comment, and the Staff makes a presentation.
