Port Hueneme--The Water Agency unanimously approved the appointment of Member Bobby Martinez to the Association of Water Agencies (AWA) of Ventura County Board of Directors on Tuesday, Feb. 20.
The Water Agency also unanimously appointed Member Laura Hernandez as the alternate to the Board of Directors.
AWA meetings are held on the first Thursday of every other month, starting in Jan, March, and May.
The Board selects a Director from the Port Hueneme Water Agency (PHWA) to serve as Member-at-Large and an alternate for the 2024/2025 term of office to the Association of Water Agencies (AWA) of Ventura County Board of Directors.
The AWA was formed in 1976 and provides a forum for exchanging information on local and regional water issues. The AWA is governed by a 21-member board of directors comprised of leaders representing various water entities in our region.
Executive Director James Vega presented the item and said similar to reorganizing; the agency reviews its appointments with the Association of Water Agencies in Ventura County.
