Ventura—During his Tuesday, December 16, report to the City Council, City Manager Bill Ayub congratulated the Public Works and Parks departments on winning Ventura County’s American Public Works Association Project of the Year award for the Westpark Skatepark.
“The Westpark Skate turned a deteriorating 3,200-skate bowl from the mid-1990s into one of the most inclusive skate parks in the region,” he said. “It spans approximately 20,000 square feet, and the new skate park features world-class skate elements, improved park access, upgraded lighting, drought-tolerant landscaping, public art, and much more. Congratulations to those teams for a job well done.”

“There was also a community response team with the city of Santa Paula. We’re offering our fifth Emergency Response Team Training, open to Ventura residents,” he said.
