Psychedelic Summer rocks Gen X

Channel Islands—Peace, love, and music washed across the 2024 Concerts by the Series, which hit its retro side on Saturday, July 13, as Psychedelic Summer delivered groovy tunes and hip fashions for concertgoers that danced the night away to boss ‘60s hits.

TRIBUTE Band Psychedelic Summer knocked great hits from The Jefferson Airplane, the Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, and more to the tremendous crowd that mobbed the dance area, ready to celebrate Gen X once again.

Steve Facko summarized ‘60s music with the expression, “Oh my gosh.”

“The 60s were great because it was almost the beginning of the Rock n Roll music era,” he said. “A lot of foundations were laid down, and a lot of great bands that made room for the bands to come. It was also the evolution of country music.”

He is a regular Concerts by the Sea attendee and lives only a few miles away.

“This is a fantastic benefit for living here,” he said.

 

Steve’s wife Carol said her favorite ‘60s band was the Beatles and noted she was a teenager and always listened to the radio.
