Ride for the Blue attracts crowd

Oxnard--Motorcycle Riders across Ventura County came out in full force on Saturday, May 4. for the Annual Ride for the Blue, which came rolling through downtown Oxnard.

THE Sergeant Ron Helus Ride For The Blue supports Ventura County First Responders, the first on the scene when an emergency strikes.

“First Responders run towards danger when others run away. They go to work daily, knowing they may not return home to their families. The Sergeant Ron Helus Ride For The Blue provides resources to help First Responders be the best they can be through funding for equipment, wellness training, and support.”

Retired Officer Jeff McGreevey said it’s his fifth year with the Ride for the Blue, and he was busy coordinating the effort in Oxnard.

“It’s such a great event to bring the community together to support First Responders in Ventura County,” he said. “We have people who travel from all over Southern California. We’re raising a lot of money to help First Responders in Ventura County with mental health and leadership training. We’re creating opportunities where we can support the people who support us.
