Oxnard-- The Community Meeting about the South Oxnard Aquatic Center continues with Els/ President/CEO Clarence Mamuyac Jr. saying there will be two ways into the Aquatic Center at College Park off North Rose Avenue based on the proposed design.
Meeting two attendees heard a presentation from els/ then broke into groups and suggested input for the Aquatic Center’s potential design. The center has a projected summer 2025 grand opening date.
“We’ve partitioned the site off so the North Part of the site will have parking, and the South side will be the home of the Aquatic Center,” he said. “This is a big part of why the building is the way it is. We have wind coming from the west, and we have winds coming from the northeast as well. We want to make sure that we’re protecting the aquatic environment from those winds.”
He noted that people will be wet, and if they catch some breeze, it might cause some chilling.
“As the wind drags over the surface of the pool, it tends to speed up the evaporation and protect the aquatic environment from that kind of wind action,” Mamuyac said. “It will be better off for conserving…
