Second Covid-19 booster ok’d for people over 50

Oxnard-- In his report to the city council Tuesday, April 5, Alex Nguyen said the second Pfizer and Moderna Covid-19 booster shots have been approved and are now available for people 50 and over.

“As well as immunocompromised folks who are 12 years and older, as well as the Johnson & Johnson recipients,” he said.

He said Councilmember Oscar Madrigal asked for an update about pipe replacement at a recent city council meeting in the La Colonia neighborhood.

Public Works Director Michael Wolfe said the Cast Iron Pipe Replacement project in the neighborhood was supposed to be finished a couple of months ago, but the project ran into a delay.

“Recent discussions with the contractor indicate that it is supposed to be finishing this month,” he said. “What’s being held up is the pavement project that is happening. Once the underground pipe contractor is finished, a couple of weeks later, we’ll issue the task order for the pavement resurfacing project. The streets are Camino Del Sol, Rose, Third, and Oxnard Boulevard. We do anticipate them getting started in Mid- May; that’s contingent on the underground contractor finishing their work.
