State of the City highlights PH

Port Hueneme--Mayor Bobby Martinez made his State of the City Address to his residents and said the Friendly City by the Sea is a wonderful place to live.

HE said the City achieved progress and achievements throughout 2023, starting with new City Manager James Vega joining the Port Hueneme team.

“He is locally born and raised and has proven himself as one of the County’s best with over 12 years of City Management experience,” Martinez said. “We have also welcomed back Mike Federico as our Police Chief. He is a former Police Officer who is proud to have started his career here in Port Hueneme at a young age. He has been part of our community for over 30 years.”

Martinez said Federico started the Port Hueneme Police Explorer Program in 1997.

“We have started an Instagram page this year for the first time, and we have also grown our Facebook page,” Martinez said. “Additionally, we now have a newsletter and are actively using our YouTube Channel.”

 

Martinez said the City of Port Hueneme is making strides environmentally, and in 2023, they’ve banned EPS (expanded polystyrene), which is expensive to recycle and not good for the environment.
