Summer Classic Car Show beautifies downtown

Oxnard—Historic A Street was the place to be Sunday, July 21, as the Summer Classic Car Show, co-hosted by the Downtown Oxnard Improvement Association and the All-for-One Car Club, returned to the joy of everyone.

THE event featured over 400 Classic and Specialty Autos, with proceeds benefitting the Historic Downtown Oxnard Beautification Fund.

It was cars spanning from City Hall to Heritage Square as great autos from all eras lined the streets. There was live music, area merchants offered great treats, and vendors lined A Street offering unique merchandise.

Christine Martinez ran the 50/50 raffle for the Oxnard Performing Arts Center Children’s Workshop, and the Center was pleased to be part of the day.

“Our raffle has 50 percent going to the Children’s Workshop here in Oxnard, and 50 percent goes to the donor,” she said. “We’re trying to raise money for the arts program at the center because they’re not getting any arts in school anymore.”

 

She said the arts, music, and instruments have been taken away, and they’re fixing that problem.

“This program is giving each student the opportunity to experience the arts they like,” she said.
