Ventura—The Board of Supervisors, Monday, October 20, adopted an Ordinance establishing one classification and salary range for the APCD (Air Pollution Control District) Administrative Services Director.
“The Air Pollution Control District provides air quality monitoring, and accurately measuring air quality is key to reducing air pollution. By continuously measuring air pollutants, we can also understand environmental trends and protect public health.”
“Assemblymember Gregg Hart (D-Santa Barbara) celebrated signing Assembly Bill 14 — a landmark law creating the statewide California Protecting Blue Whales and Blue Skies Program.
“The program will help prevent fatal ship strikes on endangered whales and cut harmful air emissions by encouraging slower vessel speeds along the California coast. Speaking from the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History Sea Center on the historic Stearns Wharf, Assemblymember Hart was joined by environmental organizations, air quality officials, program ambassadors, and leading scientists to mark this milestone achievement. The bill was coauthored by Assemblymembers Steve Bennett (D-Ventura) and Damon Connolly (D-San Rafael).”

Classification Manager Marjoriem Dehil recommended two classifications that support the County’s efforts to attract, hire, retain, and develop a diverse workforce empowered to meet the County’s customers’ needs.
