Oxnard—On Tuesday, August 15, the Planning Commission approved an alcohol special-use permit for Taqueria Cuernavaca, located at 1801 East Ventura Boulevard.
The approval grants a new license (ABC Type 41) and authorizes the sale of beer and wine for consumption within the existing restaurant and the outdoor patio. The restaurant will sell beer and wine from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and until 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Case Planner Rolgelio Solorzano presented permit PZ 23-510-05 to the Commission, who said the application was given by business owner Joaquin Solozano, who noted the restaurant is located in the northeast corner of Oxnard within the Marketplace Retail Center.
“The project’s land-use designation is commercial regional under the 2023 General Plan,” he said. “The site’s zoning designation is retail commercial within the Rose Santa Clara Specific Plan.”
He said commercial use surrounds the project site, and to the property’s South is a business research park currently operating as retail.
“To the east and west of the project site, the current land uses are restaurants, and to the north is Auto Sales and retail,” he said.
The alcohol will be stored in the restaurant’s rear, out of view and reach…
