Port Hueneme—The City of Port Hueneme’s Third Annual Touch-a-Truck event on Saturday, October 5, scored big with kids of all ages and allowed youngsters to see, touch, and learn about their favorite trucks or vehicles.
THE event also featured arts & crafts, food vendors, information, music, and more.
Mayor Misty Perez gave the kids toy trucks, and was all smiles.
“This was inspired by our Parks and Rec Department, which does amazing things in our community and makes sure to get the community involved with a lot of great events,” she said. “It’s about family wellness and shows we care about them and their needs. I like the Ventura County Sherriff’s big truck.”
City of Port Hueneme Recreation Coordinator Taylor Penny said this year’s Touch-a-Truck has many new vehicles, and everyone loves participating.
“A lot of different agencies in Ventura County came out to make this possible for the community,” she said. “This gives the kids an opportunity to learn about different career paths.”

Youngster Blia LaBoy had a ball and enjoyed all the fun activities.
