Oxnard--The Public Works and Transportation Committee approved an amendment to the trade services agreement with UniFirst Uniform during its meeting on Tuesday, December 12.
UniFirst Corporation provides the City of Oxnard with uniform rental, purchase, and laundry services for multiple divisions.
Environmental Resources Manager Eric Zetz presented the amendment, which authorizes Mayor John Zaragoza to execute a first amendment with UniFirst for nine months, from January 31, 2024, until October 31, 2024, increasing the contract total by $100,000 for a new contract total not exceeding $770,000.
“The Public Works Department provides uniforms to approximately 345 employees in Environmental Resources, Water, Wastewater, Street Maintenance, Parks, Facilities Maintenance, and Fleet Services,” he said. “Various types of uniforms are provided specific to these employees’ specific job duties.”
He said uniforms are provided to employees in the International Union of Operating Engineers and the Service Employees International Union, per their memorandum of understanding with the City.
