VENTURA, Calif.— A Thousand Oaks man out on bail for allegedly practicing medicine without a license has been arrested again, accused of returning to a Ventura clinic to treat patients despite court orders to stop.
Nitun “Nate” Dayalghai Ahir, 44, was arraigned Monday in Ventura County Superior Court on new charges of practicing medicine without a license, including allegations that he continued posing as a medical professional days after his initial arrest in April.
Prosecutors say Ahir represented himself as a doctor at Regen Spine & Nerve in Ventura, where he treated patients and accepted payments, even though he holds no medical license in California or any other state.
According to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, Ahir violated the conditions of his release, which explicitly barred him from offering or performing medical services, collecting payments, or using any title that would indicate he was a licensed physician.
Despite those restrictions, complaints submitted to the D.A.’s Office allege that Ahir resumed seeing patients at the same clinic within days of posting bail.
