Oxnard--The City Council unanimously approved the first amendment with Kennedy Jenks Inc. for additional construction management services at the Oxnard Wastewater Treatment Plant (Reliability Improvement Project) during the Tuesday, Feb. 20, meeting.
THE agreement extends the contract amount from $3.280 million to $4.515 million and extends its term date to Mar. 31, 2026.
Senior Civil Engineer Timothy Beaman said the reliability project includes replacement improvements throughout the wastewater treatment plant.
“We have major structural improvements to the Headworks, and a brand new main electrical building and a new storage building,” he said. “We have a motor control center being replaced throughout the plant, site security improvements with gates and fencing, a complete rehab of digester no. 2 including a new concrete roof, a replacement of the SCADA (Supervisory control & data acquisition) System, and some site civil improvements.”

He said a project of such magnitude has plenty of challenges, and they had to bid the project twice. As with many projects, the City is facing supply chain issues.
