Oxnard-- Slowly but surely, the Wilson Senior Center is returning to everyday life.
The facility has safety protocols in place, and seniors can come in, enjoy a good meal, and most importantly, belong to a loving community that makes them feel welcome.
Center Director Jessica Serrano is happy to see all her seniors back at the center.
"They're doing some of the activities they've done in the past and some special events with modifications for them," she said.
The inflation and shortages hurting people at the grocery haven't hurt the senior food service program yet.
"We've still been getting our deliveries regularly," she said.
"There have been a couple of items that haven't come in," Senior Nutrition Program Manager Fernando Garcia interjected. "There is one chicken item we didn't receive, and there was one bread item we didn't receive because it's on backorder. It hasn't affected us to the point where we need to worry. I haven't noticed anything about the prices. It hasn't been crazy."
Garcia said home food deliveries, this holiday season, are moving forward.
