Los Angeles, CA (News4usOnline) –The Los Angeles Times hosted its 30th annual Festival of Books at the University of Southern California (USC) from April 26–27, drawing a massive crowd. The event featured a wide variety of book vendors, indoor and outdoor panels, author signings, food trucks, merchandise, and live performances throughout the weekend.
DISCUSSIONS spanned a broad range of topics including fiction, poetry, politics, immigration, race, and more. Popular stages included the YA Stage, the Poetry Stage, and the main Ideas Exchange stage, where featured speakers attracted large audiences.
The Festival of Books has been held annually since 1996. Originally hosted at UCLA through 2010, the event found a new home at USC in 2011, where it has continued to grow and thrive. Despite a brief shift to virtual programming due to COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021, the festival has bounced back in full force.
One standout booth this year was R.D. Talley Books, named after business owner Roderick D. Talley. Festival goers moved in and out of his tent throughout the weekend.
