Camarillo-- The city council, Wednesday, December 8, received an update on energy prices from the Clean Power Alliance.

HERE are new projections in the 2022 PCIA (Power Charge Indifference Adjustment) and where the different cities in its service area have default rates.
Ted Bardacke from the Clean Power Alliance presented the update to the City Council and brought some new news about rates.
“For the first three years, CPA had the lowest rates in the region,” he said. “Beginning in about February and a little more into July, our rates became higher in conjunction with SCE’s (Southern California Edison) PCIA and other increases to energy costs. When we set those new rates in July of 2021, it moved from indexing our rates to Edison and its cost-ofservice model. That ensures our fiscal sustainability, so we can continue to serve our communities needs.”
He said one thing that happened a lot this year, particularly in October, is that the SCE rates on the delivery side have gone up significantly.
