Oxnard—The City Council updated the community about important events on Tuesday, November 18, starting with Council Member Michaela Perez, who thanked the speaker from CFROG, which monitors air quality in South Oxnard.
"ONE of the air monitoring installations is currently at Haycox Elementary, and there have been many conversations about where environmental hazards are coming from and the types of toxins in the air,” she said. “We definitely want to encourage the community to participate and give their input on the area that’s impacted and where those monitor installations should go.”
She attended two CAUSE (Central Coast Alliance United for a Sustainable Economy) events and a California Energy Commission event.
“As a part of that conversation, I’m hoping the City Manager will provide a brief summary of what the findings were from that conversation, and what to anticipate going forward,” she said.
Council Member Bert Perello wished everyone Happy Thanksgiving and appreciated the comments about Pastor Greg Runyon’s sharing blood.
“There is one individual who needs a transfusion, but a lot of people need to donate,” he said.
