Oxnard—During its Tuesday, June 12 meeting, the Finance and Governance Committee approved the transfer of $15,389 to fund the cost of a Paramedic vehicle that exceeds ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funding.
THE Committee also approved $10,104 to fund the purchase of eight LUCAS Chest Compression devices that exceed the available ARPA Project Funds and $6,173 for a local match increase to the FY19 AFG Hazmat Training Grant.
Fire Chief Alexander Hamilton presented the item to the Committee, and he said the City Council approved the allocation of $100,000 from the ARPA Funds to acquire a Paramedic vehicle.
“The anticipated cost to purchase the vehicle chassis and the body transfer is estimated at $115,389, which exceeds the allocated ARPA funding for this project by $15,389,” he said. “The Department is requesting a transfer from available appropriations in the Department Fleet Replacement Project account in Fund 742 to the project account in Fund 742 to the project account in the Capital Outlay Fund 101.”
Hamilton said the City had some inflationary and supply chain issues when completing the project, but it anticipates completing it this calendar year.
