Oxnard-- Things were happening at the Murphy Auto Museum Saturday, December 10, as the Museum’s Garage Sale featured unique items that would become treasures in any home.
THE sale featured classic trains, motor vehicles, reconditioned retro bicycles, elegant furniture, toys, and more.
Murphy Classic Car Foundation Executive Director David Neel said the event did well, and people picked up some classic Christmas gifts.
“We have sold some Andy Granatelli memorabilia, we sold some car art pictures, some in frames and some not in frames, some vintage camping equipment, and a few vintage metal signs,” he said. “We’ve also sold some toys. All this stuff has been acquired by the Museum. People donate things to us, and we’re not using them anymore, and they tend to take over.”
He said they’ve raised over $500 and plan on more funds.
“Every month, the most pressing need is paying the building rent,” he said. “We don’t own the building; we don’t get a deal on the building. Like anybody else, we have to pay a lease payment.”
