RiverPark Amendment undergoes a long process

Oxnard-- The story about the RiverPark Specific Plan and development standards continues with Senior Planner Joe Pearson saying that permits require a development design review permit.

On a split vote, Tuesday, March 15, the city council approved amended RiverPark Specific Plan amendment and Fore Property Development Agreement Amendments to the project.

The action brought much confusion with many proposed amendments that ultimately were straightened out by Assistant City Attorney Jason Zaragoza and City Attorney Stephen Fischer.

As part of the Fore development agreement, Pearson said a similar series of changes are being requested.

"These include extending the term of the DA (Development Agreement) for a period of 5.5 years to July 1, 2028, setting applicable impact fees at the rates effective September 24, 2018, for the term of the agreement, except as otherwise modified, and waiving future Quimby and Park-related fees," he said. "This waiver is needed and is different from the RiverPark Development Agreement request because the four properties were not part of the original RiverPark Development agreement, which provided credit for the build-out of the parks within the RiverPark Specific plan."
