Channel Islands Harbor—The Harbor’s Streets were on fire with runners ready to stake their claim at the Annual Santa to the Sea Half-Marathon Sun., Dec. 8.
THE event raises all its money for the community. It’s mission is to serve over 3000 low-income children every year, giving out toys to those in need for Christmas and partnering with local food banks and scholarship funds to support families year-round.
The Santa to the Sea has over 10 years of experience producing successful events, from road races to trail runs, competitive hikes to cycling, mountain bike races to ski races, and triathlons to multi-sport races.
First place went to Andrew Walgren, followed by Ismael Samana, Ramiro Mateo, Nicholas Sciole, and Erick Tienda.
Christian Gomez finished among the leaders and said he only had coffee before the race.
“This is my first time, so I winged it,” he said. “I like working out on the side, but it’s fun. I kept pushing.”
