Ventura—During his Tuesday, September 22, remarks to the City Council, City Manager Bill Ayub reminded everyone that the Spanish-language Community Emergency Response Team Training Program is still available.
“RESIDENTS must apply by Wednesday, September 30, and anyone interested can learn more and apply on the City’s website,” he said.
Ayub also issued a quick update on the Monmouth Way Sewer Repair Project, which runs through September 25.
“Sewer replacement work will require 24-hour traffic impacts along Harbor Boulevard,” he said.
“Westbound traffic will remain open, while eastbound traffic will be detoured via Pierpont Boulevard. Just a reminder: Pierpont Boulevard is a narrow residential street, so speeds need to stay down.”
He said the Highway 101 off-ramp at Harbor Boulevard will also be closed.
“This work is one of our final steps to returning our wastewater utility to regular operations, following impacts from the September 2024 gasoline leak,” he said. “We appreciate everyone’s patience as this important work is completed. Additional information is available on the City’s website, and we’ll provide updates as they become available.”
In October, he said the City Council will meet on October 6, 13, and 27.
