Oxnard--The City Council approved its general fund reimbursement of service charges to special districts during its Tuesday, March 19 meeting.
THE agreement transfers $166,248 for the reimbursement of sidewalk service charges, including interest, to 21 Landscape Maintenance Districts (LMD) (Fund 120) to the general fund with the corresponding budget appropriation adjustments.
The special districts division of the Public Works Department takes care of the maintenance, operation, and administration of the City’s 50 special districts, including the bonded and non-bonded Community Facilities Districts (CFD), Waterways, Maintenance Assessment Districts, and a Maintenance Assessment District.
Each special District has specific individual authorized services and improvements, including, but not limited to, park landscapes, open spaces, parkway medians, other public improvements, and recreation and park amenities like picnic shelters, restrooms, arbors, and fountains.
Special Districts Manager Eric Storrie said properties in each District are assessed an annual parcel charge to maintain the improvements and other authorized services within their District.
