Oxnard-- The Community Services Public Safety Housing & Development Committee approved a blanket purchase order increase with Stryker Sales during its Tuesday, November 14, meeting.
THE $400,000 increase is for the purchase of grant-funded automatic chest compression systems and other routine operational expenses.
A blanket purchase order (BPO) is an agreement established with a vendor to fill repetitive needs for goods.
Fire Chief Alex Hamilton presented the item and said the BPO makes it easier for the vendor and the City to fill recurring needs while using the City’s total buying power by taking advantage of quantity discounts, saving administrative time, and reducing paperwork.
“The BPO has a not to exceed the maximum amount, and anything over $200,000 requires the Mayor and most senior council members approval and signature,” he said.
He said the City of Oxnard was awarded a FEMA Assistance to Firefighter Grant and was awarded as a sub-recipient of the Ventura County Fire Department, which received the award.
