Ventura-- The Board of Supervisors approved a One-Year Annual Renewing Agreement with the City of Thousand Oaks (T.O.) providing Financial Support ($2 million in Initial Capital Funding and $450,000 Annual Operations Funding) for a permanent, year-round Shelter with 30 Beds, February 28.
THE Shelter will serve homeless individuals and families and authorizes the County Executive Officer to approve and sign additional limited modifications to the Agreement in Supervisorial District Two.
Christy Madden with the County Executive Office gave the report and said through the City’s partnership; they received $26.7 million in Project Homekey Funds to convert the Quality Inn into 77 units of permanent housing.
“Developing the Homeless Navigation Center in the City of Thousand Oaks will be complimentary to this new development as persons stabilize for placement into permanent supportive housing,” she said.
In accordance with Board Policy, she said the County is committed to funding operations on a 50/50 cost share with local communities committed to developing Emergency Shelters within their communities within the constraints of the County’s budget.
