Oxnard-- I was delivering the paper last week, and a reader opened one edition, pointed to Frosted Thoughts, and said is this you?
IT was, of course, but when I sat and thought about it, the picture I was using was taken back in 2008, when I was the news director at a radio in Colorado.
The picture needed an update, and I have to say that I am getting old. For example, in 2008, I had a little bit of gray in my brown beard, and I now have a whisper of brown in my old gray beard.
I can tell you that I look like my mother, who is Italian, and nothing like my father, who is Irish and English. That holds true, except for around my eyes, as it is obvious that the bags under my eyes look almost identical to my father’s eyes. In all fairness, those bags get cleverly disguised by my eyeglasses that are a huge part of my life and growing. Note to self, I need a new prescription, and although I am pretty busy, I’m going to have to carve out some time and get this done.
