Oxnard-- Okay, the cycle begins once again, and the City of Oxnard is heading full steam into another election season.
LET’S start with talking about who will replace newly appointed Ventura County Supervisor Vianey Lopez on the Oxnard City Council.
I’m seeing some signs pop up around town, which is always good, but there are things to remember before launching your campaign.
There are plenty of people who have their favorite issues they feel passionate about, which is good. Having passion is a good attribute for a council member, but it’s important to note that Oxnard does not need a one-trick pony when it comes to issues.
For all those candidates and potential candidates considering entering the race, keep in mind that these issues require research to be knowledgeable, then after you gain knowledge, you need input from the constituents you represent. That means everybody, without dismissing people because you disagree with them. Everybody deserves to be heard; keep that in mind.
