Oxnard-- You know, I have gone off multiple times about prices at the grocery store, but as we, the public, complain, it seems like that only gives permission to raise prices even higher.
I bought some ground beef two weeks ago, and one of those five-pound rolls cost me over $19 for the 73/27 meat-fat mixture.
That was a mistake because when you think about it, when that deluxe 27 percent fat content turns into a giant pool of grease, that means I only end up with 3.65 pounds of meat. Factor that into the cost per pound, and the cheaper deal isn't so cheap. That week's shopping bill cost me $265, and the sad part about this is I didn't load up on filet mignon and shrimp. I bought normal food items and only store brands, not the expensive stuff.
